HCV Online Waiting List Pre-Application

IMPORTANT NOTICE: THERE ARE NO FEES TO APPLY TO THE CITY OF
PHOENIX HOUSING PROGRAM WAITING LISTS OR TO RECEIVE
ASSISTANCE WITH THE APPLICATION.

The Section 8 HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER (HCV) PROGRAM PRE-APPLICATION FOR THE WAIT LIST IS NOW OPEN (DATE THROUGH DATE Arizona Time). The Public Housing Pre-Application for the Wait List is open for paper applications available at 251 W. Washington St., 4th Fl. Phoenix, AZ 85003. The Public Housing online application and Applicant Portal registration for existing applicants is currently unavailable but will be available online again approximately October 26, 2023. When the HCV Pre-Application for the Wait List opens, current Public Housing Applicants may submit a pre-application to the Section 8 HCV wait list below.

During the HCV pre-application open period, requests for persons with disabilities or persons needing assistance with alternate formats of the Section 8 HCV pre-application, including a paper pre-application or other reasonable accommodation, may be made in writing to the COPHD Section 8 office located at 830 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix, AZ 85034, by email to S8waitlist@phoenix.gov or by phone to (602-534-3030). Additional information regarding paper pre-applications and in-person assistance is available at the Housing Department website (phoenix.gov/housing).

Following the pre-application submission, you will receive an email confirmation number. THE CONFIRMATION NUMBER IS IMPORTANT! PLEASE DOCUMENT AND SAVE THIS NUMBER. This number is unique to your application and will be referenced in the future.

Anyone may submit a pre-application for the waiting list during the opening period. Only one pre-application per household will be accepted. Duplicate pre-applications will be removed.

Maintaining Your Status on the Waiting List
Applicants must notify COPHD of any changes to your address, phone, or email. Please notify COPHD of the change in the MyHousing website on the Applicant Portal. The Applicant Portal requires registration and the use of the pre-application confirmation number. The Applicant Portal registration and wait list status will be available DATE.

When you receive a letter from COPHD about your pre-application, you must respond, or your pre-application will be removed from the wait list. If you do not have internet access, notify COPHD of the change in writing to the COPHD Section 8 office or in person during regular business hours at 830 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix, AZ 85034, or by phone to (602) 534-1974. Information for self-service public computer with internet access is available at:
